suzie wrote on her wall yesterday that she was making Seafood Treasure Egg Drop Soup for iftar. wow! what a mouthful name for a dish and i was intrigued to know what its all about. apaprently Seafood Trasure = scallop + dried siput gajah (??) + seaweed; Egg Drop Soup = beaten egg + water dropped into chicken broth. her exotic chinese dish reminded me of dimsum & wonton noodle soup...and i told encik suami thats what we were going to have for iftar then.
waah kemain berkobar macam pernah buat..Fact - i've never made dimsum or wonton before but there's always a first time lah kan..apa2 pun kena cari ingredients and bamboo steamer; despite having a big periuk kukus already. standard lah, kenalah cukup alat baru ada semangat lebih sikit. i used the recipe (with some modification) from The Everyday Chinese Cookbook setebal 500 pages but cost only £2!!
Alhamdulillah adalah rupa (pics taken before steaming & frying) & rasa dimsum & wonton and eveybody enjoyed the meal..
for dessert, i bought Sesame Mo-chee aka Kuih Bom Jepun.
