another lazy sunday

its a dull and gloomy day..malas nak kemana-mana. lagipun dah penat 2 weekends asyik berjalan aja.

we did our weekly gro shopping (bak kata my cousin nik dy) yesterday. actually we did online gro shop last tuesday cos we werent home last weekend; dah damage £50 and dapat 1 petrol voucher. main purpose of going to Tesco semalam was to get fruits and lunch box stuff cos tomorrow the kids go back to school and daddy is back to work after a week break. i'm beginning to hate instore shopping cos its giving me BIG massive problem with buying things that you dont need (regardless dah buat shopping list) sebab rambang mata as you pass the aisles.  enough to say yesterday's damage was  quite significant and that was only shopping in Tesco by the way...

so hari ni hari bermalas-malasan dan makan-makan..this morning i cooked full english breakfast as opposed to american breakfast ala2 mcdonalds - egg mc muffin & cheese yesterday.

for lunch & dinner encik suami cooked nasi lemak with lauk sambal tumis + bilis goreng + telur rebus + timun + ayam garam kunyit grilled.

for minum petang, goreng frozen keropok lekor which my friend's mom & sister brought from msia. thanks izan & aunty ani. at first kenit said "i dont want it" but we insisted her to try. after one bite she said "mmmm.. its nice..i like it" and terus letak 2 dalam pinggan.

if i could turn back time..

clocks have turned back again..last nite we moved  the clock back by 1 hour, so technically we had 1 extra hour of sleep this morning. but my bed mate gets lots and lots of extra hours of sleep on sunday mornings regardless....

read this interesting blog about daylight savings.
http://www.bbc.co.uk/blogs/23degrees/2011/10/distance_travelled_773716000_k.html

when clocks turn back, bermakna the daylights are getting shorter. does it really bother me? to a certain extent it does especially when we want to do outdoor activities. it will come to a point that maghrib is at 3.30pm in winter which means by the time the kids balik sekolah, they walk in the sunset. electricity bill will shoot up, dah lah tariff memang dah naik pun.  i teach till 5pm on most days, maknanya by the time sampai rumah dah isya'..

spooky spectacular

nowadays halloween becomes one of those excuses to have fun, nothing to do with religious beliefs or faith. so i dont think if my kids go trick or treating with their friends, they will be terjebak dengan  unsur2 syirik. let them have fun!

last weekend we took them to Sacrewell Farm near Peterborough, for Pumpkin Festival.  The Old Bakery was transformed into a Witches House and the deco was amazing, pretty scary jugak for the little ones.

and tonite i baked halloween cuppies - banana cupcakes with cream cheese topping. spider web icing didnt turn out well but what the heck..everyone loves it!

shiny happy people

daddy tookleave to look after the kids during the midterm break..as yesterday was sunny, he got the girls to help him wash the car.

is this shiny and clean enough for you???

boleh buat cermin kan?

counting hours

general rule = teaching hours shouldnt exceed 16 hours/week is not applicable anymore. we're in the 4th week of the first term and i have surpassed that max limit, now teaching 18 hrs/week. earlier today, i was given additional 2 hrs/week; teaching one group of first year students. all classes this year are run on 2 hours sessions, sometimes back to back. 3 days/week i teach from 9am to 5 or 6pm with a couple of hours break. masa break nak reply email & prepare  teaching materials and other paper work, reading & research.

can you imagine how burnt out i will be by 5pm on Friday..

time is no longer in my hands..

thank you

this week the kids are having mid term break. i cannot take time off cos uni just started 4 weeks ago; so kamar took leave, become a house husband and look after the kids. pagi2 jemur kain (washing done the nite before), prepare breakfast, lunch & dinner  and washing up  and i do the rest at night.

tadi big missy had pony day at the stable, so daddy took the little missy to the park. when i got home from work at 7pm, dinner's ready - menu : nasi + salmon + mixed vege.

i couldnt ask for a better life partner.. Alhamdulillah.

walk in the parks

was in London on Monday. had few hours to kill and i prefer walking in the parks rather than window shopping.

hear ye! hear ye!

someone made an announcement soon as she finished school today

"daddy, i have a boyfriend.. his name is Alex".

then at dinner time, she told us about the  Lunch Time Award.

"Class 6 got the Lunch Time Award. our class (Class 9) didnt get it because the dinner ladies said some of the boys dropped food on the floor". she was quite dissapointed.

and about the boys antics..

"some of the boys in my class flooded the toilet, so they have to share the girls toilet. the boys who flooded the toilet are Alex Mc Laren,  my boyfriend (followed by a smile...imagine sendiri ya how she looked when she said that) and Alex Chadburn Adams"

waaahhh she knows her friends' surnames. i'm impressed!

night time in strelley

autumn is finally here.. it started to feel colder since the past few days, i've taken my fleece out  and we need new gloves and hat for the kiddos.

daytime gets shorter, sunsets at 6pm but big missy doesnt seem to mind riding in the cold & dark outdoor riding school with the help of the spotlight.

daddy took some lovely photos, albeit in the cold.

padley gorge

we went for a 3 mile round trip walk at Padley Gorge, in Peak District, just about 1 hour drive away from our place. we got there at 11am, kereta tak banyak lagi park ditepi jalan (no dedicated parking space, all cars will have to be parked on the roadside); by the time we left at 4pm, half a mile of the road was turned into a carpark.

it was a good walk, kids love it. its like an enchanted forest with green mossed rocks.

we walked for 2 hours from the start to Grindleford Station Cafe - daddy had a massive chips butty (well we shared the chips) and walked all the way back to the carpark again.

little missy dozzed off at around 5pm on the way home and didnt get up till 7am the next day.. 14 hours of sleep sebab penat kena dera haha..
