pindah office

last thursday was our last day in Dryden building, which was my office for 4 years. that building was office to my colleague for the past 15 years, prior to that it was the university's library. i shared a room with sani & chris and we got along well.
we are now placed in Arkwright, a 200 year old grade 2 listed building which was recently refurbished.
i dont really have any problem with open plan office but when one is in a confined space with so many different characters, it may create some problem. thank goodness for the flexibility of working at home, which i'll be doing more when there's no teaching.
thats my work station, which i plan to put some potted plants to create a barrier from my opposite neighbour who is quite a character...i just want to be left in my own world and do my work while listening to my mp3. no one sits behind me and i will get to use the workstation to mark students coursework.


and i get a small window to look out when i get bored..

walking again..

last friday when kamar told me that he had to attend a meeting with a potential client in York, i asked if we could tag along. since i dont really have to go to work (boss advised us not to, until tuesday when our stuff are all moved to the new office and the pc & printer is all set up) and school has started easter break, i applied for leave so that we could all follow him to York. we were there last summer when my sister & cousin came to visit.

kamar finished his work at 12.30 and then we drove to Low Mill, about an hour drive up north for the Farndale Daffodil Walk - i read about it in the country file magazine; supposed to be the place to go to in spring. weather was dreadful the whole day - wet and grey. it didnt stop us from going for the walk but we're quite dissapointed as the daffodils have not really bloomed yet. but someone had a lot of fun, jumping in the puddle!

we got home at 6.45, tired .. nasib baik this week kerja 4 days aja (and kamar forgot about that!!) as its good friday this week!!

walking weekend (part 2)

i woke up this morning and looked at the clock which showed 7am, forgetting that the time was moved forward at 1 am. so it was 8am then..

kamar went out to the shops to get frozen roti canai while i made sambal tumis sardine. after breakfast at around 10.30, we left for Attenborough Nature Reserve, near Beeston which is just 15 minutes drive away. its a wild life sanctuary. we walked around for a good 2 hours and looked out for birds and different kind of ducks.

we got home at 1.30, i cooked fish curry & kakak fried terung & bendi with ikan bilis..richard & ivy left for rutland waters at 4pm..

walking weekend (part 1)

saturday afternoon, Ivy & Richard arrived from Kent on their campervan. Ivy was kakak's school friend when they were in JB. after nasi lemak lunch and rest, we went for a good hour walk at Wollaton Park.

weather is getting better, rasa dah lama sangat winter cos it started in mid december.

yesterday i was at the library, doing the coursework, hand in date on 9/4 tapi memandangkan nak gi cuti kena la siapkan awal and submit sebelum ber-halelujah. so basically i have 2 weeks to get it done, InsyaAllah boleh.

today's activities...

• started with preparing breakfast, normally kamar makes breakfast on sundays but since he's been a bit under the weather since wednesday, i have to take over. baked vegetarian sausage roll, cooked scrambled eggs with sauted mushrooms and tomatoes & baked beans.
• after breakfast (brunch more like it) we went out to the back garden. i re-potted the daffodils, hibiscus & pokok kesum. then i cleared the front garden which brought me to 2pm.
• 
• kamar was up & about, cooked lunch - szechuan chicken & vege soup. i decided to cut aliyah's hair sikit - first time in her life... aisyah then went to lauren's house, tracy was having a BBQ and they always get halal burgers & sausages for her.
• then i baked chocolate brownie, while its in the oven i vacuumed the inside of our mini bus. by the time siap vacuum, brownie pun masak, ngam2 gitu... so had 2 slices with kopi O aik cheong.
• at 6.30pm, aisyah got home & i started dinner - thai laksa. lepas dinner, lepak...tengok tv. ironing can wait till tomorrow nite; kamar has a couple of ironed shirts in the wardrobe...

my upper arms start feeling sore now..esok kena pergi office pagi sikit cos students ada test on monday & tuesday..
