Group 2 SWIMMING

Today is little one's first day in group 2. This is based on the swim instructor's recommendaton.

Considering that the other kids have been in it for a while, I am quite pleased and impressed with her progress. She's gaining a lot of confidence and is not afraid to try swimming without the swimming aids.

She is actually swimming the backstroke by herself. Well done!

easter holidays : longshaw estate, peak district

back from Hampshire on Wednesday, we had a restful Thursday and on Friday, being the last day of our easter break (kids still have another week off school this week), we drove to Longshaw Estate in  Peak District.

surprisingly, there's still snow on the ground. breathtaking view!

Longshaw Estate is known for Red Grouse

easter holidays : downtonia

one of my itineraries during the easter break was to visit Highclere Castle aka Downtonia because its just 45 minutes drive from Gill's.

Highclere Castle, home of Earl & Countess of Carnarvon is featured as Downton Abbey & possibly the most popular stately homes in England; thanks to power of television.

it was a glorious sunny (and warmish) day when we went there. such a big estate. we just walked on the castle ground, kids not so interested to go inside the castle.

we took a lot of pics to satisfy the request from my cousin Nik Dy, a big fan of DA.

CC at the entrance gate is not  a Chanel logo  but  Come Carnarvon.

its spring time!

yes, spring has officially arrived..

days and nights are getting a bit warmer, we've had few good days last week that I managed to do loads of washing over the weekend but the dirty laundry keeps piling up again..(sighhhh)

I went out shopping in Winchester with gill the day before we came home, found some "springy" coloured tops in LA on the sale rack. bought one each for me & yan (same colour but different design & fabric), I wore mine on the first day back to work after the easter break. rasa ceria! please ignore the boolatness...

are the stars at fault??

finished the book. i cried reading the last few chapters on the way to work this morning. its brilliantly written;  humour, tragedy, love story (not the mushy2 or cheesy ala Mills n Boons) of  Augustus Waters and Hazel Grace, two  teenage cancer sufferers. true what the review says - you can cry and laugh reading the same page.

as what mira said.. who else would write "my thoughts are stars i cant fathom into constellations". in plain english/lay man's term - " the thoughts are not easily understood, just like stars which are disorganised" or in malay  would mean "fikiran bercelaru"

so whats my next read??
