sweet, lovely, lovey dovey, nice..those were the comments from friends & relatives when they saw these pics. sebenarnya baru belajar guna instagram haha!

so sapa2 yang terasa nak mun... bila tengok gambar2 ni,  cepat2 ambik baldi ya.  we dont want to be accused of messing somebody's floor or sofa!

pic taken at adib's birthday party
dating at wollaton park on sunday afternoon
with wollaton hall at the background
thanks for the compliments. alhamdulillah berkat doa semua orang. we only have each other. buang masa aja nak gadoh2. we wish to grow old together and live life to the fullest, insyaallah.

jalan2

i would never have thought that i could get addicted to briskwalking. dulu2 kalau nampak orang jogging/running/walking in whatever kind of weather - under the hot sun, in the rain/sleet/snow, we would say "dia orang ni tak de kerja lain ke??"

it started with 'training' for race for life, walking once or twice a week. now dah jadi every other morning lepas hantar sikenit to school but sometimes every day especially kalau dah overdosed on food the night before. it sure feels good after sweating it out.

i got a pedometer on sunday, which could measure the number of steps, distance, calories burnt etc

ni reading on Tuesday morning, 6862 strides/steps done in 1 hour.
on the way out of the park, jumpa a herd of deers/stags
and this one posed for me.
on the way home, managed to take a pic of these roses & hydrangea in this garden. every morning & afternoon i pass by this house when doing the school run. dah lama teringin nak ambik gambar.

on Wednesday morning i went out again sebab overdosed on nasi ayam the night before.
on the way home, stopped and chatted to Betty, an elderly & friendly lady who owns this garden which has an array of wildflowers.  she told me to knock on her door next month if i want the allium & poppy seeds.

this is the reading on Wednesday, did  2.694miles = 4.3km, in 1 hour door to door.

weather critique

i reckon its important that parents 'record' conversations that we have with our kids. i do sometimes, more for my own collection & to saviour for the rest of my life.

scene 1
few days ago, 8.40am, on the way to school, glorious & sunny morning

" i have to wear my hat to school. if i dont, my hair will turn red (because the sun will shine on her hair) just like my friend Sam." by the way, Sam is a boy in her class who is red-haired.

scene 2
today, 8.45am, on the way to school, wet & gloomy morning

"mummy, its already june. its supposed to be summer (we had the same kind of conversation few weeks ago) but its raining. it didnt rain in december when it was supposed to. and we had that snow in january remember?  it doesnt make sense!!"

my 5 y.o daughter becomes a weather critique, just like the elderly people u meet at the bus stops..

gardening

yesterday, i cleared up the front lawn, removed the lalang and dead spring flowers to make way for summer blooms. and kamar mow the backyard.

hydrangea dah berbunga..yeay!!

we've always wanted to have a garden with an apple tree..well, whaddayaknow?? there's one at the back garden! banyak jugak buah nya.

pic below : how the front lawn looked like in march. pic taken fr kitchen, sebab tu samar2 sikit.

the same front lawn in june.. meriah kan pokok hydrangea tu??..

sweet pea

this is my sweet pea plant. dah tinggi. should have bought the 'reban'/cordon but the again, i never thot they would grow & bloom really well.

my next door neighbour complimented the sweet pea this morning and said that the garden is better than John's (our landlord). i gather as much that john & mrs didnt like gardening.

Never Seconds

a 9 y.o girl took pics of her school dinners, became a food critique and wrote on her blog http://neverseconds.blogspot.co.uk, supported by Jamie Oliver ..harmless but NO!   the council couldnt take the heat and banned photography in school dining hall.

then after world wide uproar, the ban was lifted and she's back to writing.

well done kiddo!

lush greenery

what i love most about my briskwalking regime (which is turning into an addiction) is being able to enjoy the lush greenery. its so serene, like time stood still.

this is the woodland not far from our house, literally "belakang rumah"

race for life 2012

on Sunday morning, i was one of 4000 women taking part in the annual  Race For Life at Victoria Embankment, raising money for Cancer Research UK.

thanks to all my sponsors - friends & relatives in UK and Msia who helped me raise £200 (as targetted).

athlete & coach !!
part of the crowd
sempat posing with twiggy & emma from Capital fm
warm up dulu..

  on your mark..get set..
 go!

i managed to complete 5km (3miles) in less than 1 hour, same amount of time i take during my practice around wollaton park.

 bangga dapat medal!
running with the 4000 women who have their own story to tell, reminded me of Gee who survived the battle and arwah Era who passed away few years ago. its satisfying to know that i had done something that i enjoy, for a good cause. definitely doing it again next year, 10km maybe?
