easter holiday : jane austin

half hour drive from Gill's to get to Chawton, Jane Austin's house where she lived for the last 8 years of her life and where she wrote Pride & Prejudice.
this year is 200th anniversary of Pride & Prejudice and there were some short scenes by a theatre group, held over the easter weekend.

the scene when Mr Darcy came out of the lake in Pemberly (shot at Lyme Hall near Disley) is one of the most remembered.

'It is a truth universally acknowledged that a single man in possession of a good fortune, must be in want of a wife.' - Chapter 1 : Pride & Prejudice
