masa mula2 datang dulu pening jugak nak paham the education system here. basically, the cut off date is 31st August of the year. in the case of little missy, she was 4 in january this year; so when the new school term starts in september, she's 4+ & should attend Infant School, starting in Reception Class. sept nx year , she will proceed to Year 1 then Year 2. after that the child will go to Junior School till she completes Year 6, at the age of 10.
when we moved here in jan 2006, big missy was 6 1/2 years old and went straight to Year 2 as she was already 6 in sept 2005. so we never really experienced that "first day of school" thing like almost all parents go thro. i'm excited/anxious with little missy's going to 'real' school; all day from 8.45-3.30pm. pandai ke nak gi toilet sendiri, nak makan at lunch time, nak tukar baju PE. etc.
these came in with the starter pack and i've read it to her.
