when depressed...eat!!

i'm no longer depressed (just a bit still lingers..) its just that i'm finding an excuse to have something nice and naughty. i only did 1 hour of lecture today and got home early to wait for big missy to come home from school. after i got off the bus, i found my feet walking into Bird's to get a farmhouse loaf & dinner rolls; then i saw this...

meringue with whipped cream filling and choc flake..its crispy on the outside and just melt in the mouth..i was told that sekarang, macaroons are the in-thing in KL besides cupcakes. apparently Laduree has got an outlet in KL and it is the top of the range. well, from reading Edd aka He Eats blog, he reckons that Pierre Herme is the best and Laduree came 5th. i dont know much about the trendy macaroons because all that i ever had was the traditional one way back in glasgow and it was nothing fancy like what they have today.

i've never tasted Laduree macaroon but by looking at the recipe, its not much different from the meringue with cream that i bought from our friendly neighbourhood confectionary.
