i got it!!!

Alhamdulillah..all my penat lelah is paid off, well in a  way.

its been almost 5 years since i started the pgche (post grad cert in higher education)  course, which was made compulsory by the government for teachers who started teaching in higher education in 2006. ngam2 gitu, i started this job in feb 2006, maka terpaksa lah akur.

i started the course in sept 2006, supposed to complete it in 2 years, ie sept 2008.  when i started, i was 5 months pregnant, completed the first module before i had the baby in january 2007. soon as i returned to work in april 2007 (i only took 3 months maternity leave while some women took up to 1 year off), i went back to  'learning and teaching' classes every wednesday afternoon, submitted 2 pieces  of coursework in January 2008,  completed  the 2nd module in July 2008, handed in the last piece of work in january 2009.  all these was done while working full time, berdiri dan bercakap 16 hours a week and all related teaching duties such as preparing teaching materials, marking coursworks and exam paper, jaga baby & household chores.

only 1 thing was pending to wrap up the course -  teaching portfolio; which  i could have done by july 2009 but  i  cudnt fit that into my daily routine and to top it, i resumed the MSc in Proj Mgmt in sept 2008 with its classes, courseworks and exams on tow.

march this year i received an email from Sch of Education, giving me a deadlne of 11 June to submit the portfolio or i have to start all over again... so like it or not, i put aside the piles of marking, got on with compiling data & materials & writing up, all done in 4 days and submitted the work just in time ..

this morning, i received another email that my portfolio has been marked. i called the admins lady and asked whether or not i passed (tu yang penting) and how i fare.. enuf to say, i got good marks and i'm so pleased. now i'm a Qualified Teacher

some people may say "ek eleh.. big deal, macam lah dia sorang yang belajar sambil kerja, and its only kursus cikgu, bukan nya susah sangat pun..." Well, it is a BLOODY BIG DEAL for me..i'm so thankful to my mom, my sis in law who helped me with the housework and looking after the kids while they were here, and of course to my other half and my lovely girls for being so supportive & understanding..

whats next?? berangan nak buat Masters in Education next year; cukup setakat tu je lah sebab tak interested/tak ambitious lansung nak buat PhD. i told my team leader and he's giving me full support to get the funding fr uni. we shall see..apa2 pun kena habiskan the MSc in PM dulu this year..
