oh i still swear by these books to teach my children to read, regardless of  the new reading methods like phonics.

little missy is going to reception in sept and we are getting a bit worried. she knows the alphabets and some simple words & numerics and basic counting but she still couldnt read a whole sentence. and she's already 4 and half  y.o... tak pasal2 tension.

our solution - get the good old  P&J books, the same books her big sister used to learn reading at three. at lunch time today i went to WHSmith and bought this box set which contains 6 books, rrp £15 but this week ada 20% discount instore so i got 6 books for £12, not bad lah kan. kalau beli singles, cost £3 each. apparently in Msia, each book costs RM 9.90 (£2).

soon as i got home, got her into reading book 1a and  of course kena puji banyak2, she managed to read the whole book quite well. when asked to read it again, she just said  "i've read it already.. i'm tired". she gets bored easily.
