mid term break

kids mid term break ended today. we had to ask a big favour from kamar's niece, Raudhah who's in the final stage of writing her phd thesis to come over and look after the kids. Raudhah has always been good with them and they listen to whatever she said. yang best nya, after Raudhah sampai 1 jam, dah ambik Quran & buku iqra' nak ngaji. kalau dengan kita, hampeh!

i did a timetable for lil missy and Alhamdulillah she followed it through without much excuse. after 3 days with her cousin, lil missy was able to recite Alfatihah.. Alhamdulillah, we are so pleased with her achievement. memang lah tak boleh nak compare dengan anak orang lain her age or younger, yang dah pandai baca macam2. kita buat setakat mana yang mampu. ni pun dah seribu rahmat. now that Raudhah has gone back to Sheffield, its down to me to teach her some other surah lazim, starting with 3 Qul.

i told her to baca Alfatihah every nite before she goes to sleep so that she wont forget. and she said to me "mummy, i have to read it so that bad things dont happen".

at the end of the first day, she complained "mummy, i got all muddled up (confused)". ye lah, semua nak kena buat - reading, maths, alif ba ta & ngaji, one after the other. Raudhah was so skillful teaching (and pujuk) her how to do addition/subtraction using big numbers. bless her!

not bad lah kan for someone yg baru belajar

on tuesday they took the bus into town and had lunch with me. and lil missy asked if she could have a new outfit for snowy bear. dia tuntut the promise i made end of september. and for her achievement, i couldnt say no. her kakak said "you deserve a reward if you do as you are told".

Thanks Raudhah for helping us out and teaching the kids..
