yellow & blue

last monday was a bank holiday and we headed for rutland water. the fields in the country have turned yellow - the rapeseed is back and the sight is something to behold especially when the sun is out.

we stopped at McD in Melton to get some take away and drove to North Shore of Rutland Water. after having our meal in the car as it was quite windy & a bit chilly, i went out walking with aisyah & kakak to Barnsdale Walk where Bluebells are carpeting the woodlands.
from there we drove to ina's house in langham and then off to have tea at stapleford country park. the scones were really lovely - just melt in the mouth and a few of them spread with cream & strawberry compote melted in mine!!
the little ones enjoyed themselves in the garden playing (messing about) with the giant chess. we left at 6pm as we had to go to work the next day.
