february already??

time flies..even when u are not having fun, and especially so when you are terribly busy with daily routine.

1st Feb marked the 16th anniversary of my beloved grandma's demise. i thot it was in 1992 that she left us but when i spoke to my aunty, it was actually in 1994. i went back to msia after my 5 years stay in glasgow in 1991 and my aunty who lived in Mekkah with her family returned in 1993 and recalled that it was a year after they were back in Msia that my grandma passed on. i was brought up by my grandparents since i was a baby till i left school for college, which
explained why i was very close to her. i called her Che' and she was Che Nik Sah to everybody else. she was a 'proper' Nik, very soft spoken but firm; someone everyone would turn to for advice. when she spoke to other family members, she would address them by Nik 'whoever the name is'. she even called my grandpa Nik Kar. Che' had not been well for as long as i could remember, always had to go to hospital or klinik kerajaan for her monthly prescription. her last straw was a month before she passed away, i took a week off from work to look after her in Hospital KB. a week after she was discharged, she had to go back into the hospital and thats where she drew her last breath. no word could describe how sad i was on that day and i guess almost everybody felt sorry for me. i was sad, thats true, but i had done her proud, whatever i did was for her and tried to my level best to make her happy when she was alive. my grandpa's health deteriorated after his soul mate was gone and he left us in Nov 2005. now, back to my life ... its been hectic. i had to hand in contract law portfolio last friday (29th) and had been spending time at the library whenever i could, on weekends and on the days when i wasnt teaching or after teaching till 7 or 8pm. Alhamdulillah kakak is here, so at least i dont have to worry about the kids and dinner. Chris told me my result on Monday and i was so chuffed! now i'm working on law coursework to be handed in on 13/2, the same date as the exam. (thanks mira @ mummy the lawyer for your help with the law coursework - on dispute resolution). chris advised me to go through pass year exam questions and try to prepare the model answers and he's ever so willing to check them - the perk of being your colleague's student.. friday, saturday and monday will see me at the library studying for the exam. i'm really counting on this subject to pull my overall marks up. once law is out of the way, i'll have the post grad education portfolio to submit at the end of feb. that one is long overdue and i seriously need to get that done!!

yes, i'm tired, no doubt about it.. but i'm already in it and i cant stop halfway...
